Interesting comments...particularly on association membership. It is beginning to come out that the Big 12 really did offer Notre Dame similar deal to ACC--and Notre Dame chose ACC for academics, alumn footprint, and # of private schools...so glad to be in ACC and to have Notre Dame as partial at this time--it will lead to full membership in coming years:

There was little danger of ND joining the Big 12. There was a lot of talk and hot air about it down here but ND never reciprocated and as they have series with UT and OU, there was no need to join. Aside from UT and OU, there are no real compelling match-ups for ND, and if ND comes knocking, any other Big 12 school would be just like Rutgers and UConn rejecting offers from ND, simply stupid.

So glad to be in the ACC.
