Big debut for MCW

Simply insane. I thought he would do great in the NBA being surrounded by better shooters, 5's and 4's who could catch the ball, and hand checking fouls. Didn't see this coming though!

One thing about the steals, I really think that the 2-3 zone is what makes him great on defense, filling lanes, jumping into a quick double team for the steal, and just the transition offense in general.

I think he is going to be a very solid NBA player for years to come.

I watched the whole game..what an unbelievable overall performance... Didn't do anything wrong the whole night. He made the correct pass on every play and could have easily had a handful more assists. He shot the ball really well from long range and knocked down free throws at the end of the game. Defensively he was was all over the place. I had a smile on my face the whole game. It's always great to see an SU guy tear it up

Didn't watch - but that's an amazing stat-line at any point in the year - tremendous way to start your career.

Of course Philly was supposed to be tanking it this year. I guess MCW just isn't a team player...:)

o maybe this will be the year this 76ers fan been happy since 1983 ..

That's not a "big debut." That's an absolutely incredible ginormous debut! Forget the debut, that's just a crazy stat line for any player any time.

Makes an encore a bit more difficult.

Just imagine the debut he could have had if he had stuck around in school for another year.

Happy for the kid. Irritates me a bit because we all know he was capable of this, but couldn't step up in the Final Four. Still practically carried us there though.

MCW was always better suited for the NBA than he was college. He needs good players around him since he can finish on his own. I know Philly is awful, but they are still NBA calibur players he is with. He should win ROY easily since he will be playing 40 mins a night all season long.

Lol, aside from MCW, Turner and Hawes that team is awful. Thaddeus Young looked like Sheldon Cooper going to the basket in the 4th quarter. 2 dribbles, lose the ball, regain composure, trip over your feet and launch the ball off the backboard.

Any time 2 of your "good" players are Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes, you know you're terrible.

Nothing like just missing a triple double in a win over the defending champs in your NBA debut. Damn.

I think Sports Center just said it's only the third time in NBA history that line has been done.

And this was his first game against what is suppose to be a great defensive team.

Cheers,
Neil
I thought I did hear on ESPN radio that it was the most steals by a rookie in his first game.

Terrible NBA players are 1000 times better than good college players. If Thad Young played in college this year, he would average 35 a game, or more. So yes, this is BY FAR the best collection of talent MCW has ever played with.
