Big night for Wes Johnson...

Every time I see him play, he's solid, but has the capability of being so much more than just solid. Even the NBA analysts doing his games rave about him. The problem he has is lack of iso game. He's basically a way more athletic version of a 3 and D guy.

He's also probably the least assertive player in the league

If someone could figure out how to light a spark under him, he could easily be a 16-20 pt/game type of guy. He is just so timid.

Playing with Kobe probably didn't help him. Would love to see him with Pop or SVG- coaches who seem to let players do what they are good at doing.

This quote applies to just about any current and former Cuse player. If only Jimmy could somehow create that spark.

He's needs a little Dion in him (and probably vice versa)

The staff figured out a way to light a fire under Mike G.

I would love to see what Wes would be like on the Bulls

22 points on a 9 for 11 shooting, 2 for 3 from 3-pt range, and 5 boards. What kills me he is so capable of doing this night in and night out but he doesn't do it, drives me crazy.

I watched a lot of the game last night. Wes made a nice drive to the hoop, and then followed it up moments later with that huge 3 right before the half. Not sure how to describe it but he had a lot of "moxy" in him last night - he really had an extra hop in his step. Played with a swagger and confidence you don't see out of him.

Great team player, low key, lead by example type guy who defers too much. He's so athletic always thought if he developed a better handle, he could elevate his game and create for himself and others in the NBA.

He's one of the most average players in the NBA. Not a knock on him, either.

Always room on a roster for a versatile player who can make 3's, steal passes, and block shots.

The guy who doesn't scare defenses but will fulfill his role.

good news - settling into a 37% 3 point shooter
bad news - so have 30 other guys who've taken the same number of shots this year

nba shooting is unbelievably good

He's on the lakers so he's hard to judge. Can he be Danny Green? I think that's his ceiling as an NBA player. They have the same skills. Greens are just overall better right now.

I don't know about that, I think the problem is more that he can't dribble. He can't create shots for himself. He's a spot up for 3's and run the court and get some transition points guy. Tough to get 16-20 ppg that way.

I haven't watched Wes much in the NBA but it always seem to be that as athletic as he was, his lack of ball handling prevented him from developing any post/drive moves to the basket. I'm not sure if he's improved in that area in the NBA or whether the coaches even want him to be a post/drive player.

hope he keeps it up. I'd like to see an SU player extend his stay on the Lakers
