It is funny Louisville really hasn't looked all that good this year but were somehow undefeated. We have looked good but were somehow 4-5. I think today proved that SU really is the Big East this year. It is a shame that we couldn't win the conference. Props to Marrone for choosing to go for it on that 4th down. I think (hope) that he decided before that 3rd down play which is why we ran it. Hackett really has done a good job. I do think he gets a little too conservative at times (Redzone/trying for manageable 3rd downs), but overall you have to like what you see. At this point I think he has surpassed Shafer as the better Co. Nassib started off slow but he made some really nice throws, some of which we haven't seen all year. Smith ran well again. I do think he leaves yards on the field but give the kid credit he runs hard and will never be accused of dancing. The OL was just great again. They have been hugh and should be getting the bulk of the credit for the run game. Pugh made it easy today. Crume could have run for 100 the way we blocked. It is interesting that the run game really took off when we decided to go under center more. I wonder if that adjustment was an OL thing to help open up holes, a getting more blockers (TEs) on the field thing, or to accomidate Smith's strengths? What a game again by Lemon. He was the only WR we need today. Feel great for Coker. It was such an awkward play which made it even more fun. STs even looked good too. A blocked PAT. A nice return by Desir. A muff recovery. Vaughan has been great all year in coverage. Morgan as well. I hope that translates to his position, if so he will be a star. Another great job against a pro style run game by the DL. And what a hit by Goggins!!!! Shamwow makes so many plays out there. He will be missed. If someone comes flying in to make a big stop you know it is him. The play at the end of the half was big. We just need one more to get to a Bowl. No reason why we should get it done.
