Sure, our running game was up and down, but it was against the #2 team in the country.
 
Yes, our DBs didn't tackle as well as they needed to, but those were some big, strong NFL caliber wide receivers that young players like Reddish and Desir were going up against.
 
To me, the biggest positive of the game was our line play, on both sides of the ball. Really solid. I would dare say that our lines played their lines pretty even. We put up as many yards as Southern Cal did. We stopped them quite a few times when we had to, like on a couple of those 4th downs where the Trojans went for it (especially that one on their own 40, where we took it right in for the score).
 
We were competitive. We hit hard. We didn't give up. Against the #2 team in the country. Nobody in the Big East is this good, and OK we gave up too many big plays, but we gave them a legitimate contest.
 
We are going to be a pretty good team in conference, if we can stop giving up so many big plays. I still see this team going 7-5 and making a bowl game, if the kids keep their heads on straight.
