I think it was probably more of the former last night, but the line also really struggled to contain Mahomes in the pocket (granted that's much easier said than done). At any rate, Groot had a good season and finally went from a guy that was known for finishing plays after his teammates generate pressure to actually generating it himself. Oliver took a step back from being arguably elite the year before but is still pretty good. Epenesa and Von were both fine (but Von obviously grossly overpaid for being just fine; I have to assume he'll be cut this offseason).
