I agree with Pelini, but the way FOX talks up the Big Ten now is now different than the SEC-ESPN if he wanted to be fair. The perception of the SEC is ridiculous right now. I think the SEC is the best conference, but beating Texas A&M which is what Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama have as their best win or 2nd best win doesn't make you a top 5 team. I think Ole Miss and Mississippi State are top 5 teams because they are undefeated, but the non-conference schedules of Ole Miss and Mississippi State aren't that good.

Its amazing how beating LSU and Texas A&M has been spun by ESPN.

Rankings are unfairly influences by the pre-season poll. No one should be ranked (same with hoops) until at least 1/4 of the season has been played, and then you might see a better view.

However, not everyone at ESPN is anti-BiG, Cowherd was saying Ohio St still had playoff hopes and that you have to give them a break for the loss to Va Tech because of the young QB (say what?).

i don't know

aTm just played miss st, miss, and bama 3 weeks in a row. i wonder what they'd do in the ACC. we've had a tough stretch and got beat up but it wasn't that bad (ND FSU Lou is tough for sure)

i think a lot of SEC teams that would be really good in other conferences get squashed by having so few breathers

i don't like the hillbilly SEC SEC SEC guys much but i don't blame any SEC fan for taking it easy in september

The oil was starting to leak from aTm in their Arkansas game.
The Hogs which are a solid good team had control of that game and A&M came back because Arkansas had a kicker miss a 39 yd FG and prevented them from trying a kick to ice the game late. A&M was riding their win over South Carolina which isn't as good now as they lost to Kentucky and Missouri as well.
A&M is a solid team, but lets not make a win over Texas A&M mean more than just a solid win.
The spin the SEC gets from ESPN makes Roger Ailes/FOX and Phil Griffin/MSNBC blush with excitement.
Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State are good teams but their is honestly no way 3 of them should be in the top 4 right now. Michigan State lost at Oregon, TCU lost at Baylor those teams are completely after thoughts its seems compared to Alabama and Auburn who lost to the Mississippi schools.

The weird thing is that I don't see how you look at both Mississippi teams and think well Mississippi State is clearly better than FSU, but I don't think Ole Miss is. They've been equally as impressive, both on offense and defense.

There's a lot of football to be played in the SEC West, and I'm curious to see how it sorts itself out. The league itself has been divided as haves and have nots. If the West winner loses to Georgia in the SEC Championship game, even SEC fans would view it like losing to a Big East team in a BCS game.

All I know is that I'd love to be road tripping to Oxford, MS on the day after Thanksgiving. Tell the family I'll see them Tuesday. Maybe.

All I can say to that is "Hurry up ESPN and announce the ACC Channel so we can give Bo Pelini the double whammy!" Let him go over there to FOX with the Big East basketball that the public can't seem to find anymore. I do think that the ACC is undervalued. But until the ACC can consistently win the Thanksgiving weekend games against the SEC and bowl appearances as well, the SEC will be perceived as better and probably is. The Big Ten is no worries. Demographics have them in decline even with the media continuously trying to artificially prop up the big brands like Ohio State. I watched that OSU-VT game in person. Went with a VT buddy of mine. The OSU football team is no better than Duke yet has inflated ranking. It's hard to prop up Michigan this year with ND blasting them 31-0. Hopefully Michigan will beat Michigan State this year though because they play no one and creep up the polls too high.

Maybe if the B1G other than MSU wasn't repeatedly embarrassed in bowl games he would have a point .. the fact is perception has been earned.

ACC needs to see how the SEC network does for ESPN I think. Its obvious if the SEC network blue print works well for the SEC that ESPN would attempt the same with the ACC. Especially since after FB season the SEC Network programming will be pretty average until baseball season.

Big Ten is going to get paid by FOX no doubt I think ESPN will attempt to split the rights with FOX as I doubt the Big Ten will want no presence on ESPN WWL in sports.

ACC football is getting slightly better but sadly nobody has stepped up to be the 3rd solid team. VPI had a chance but the losses have piled up and I have to think Beamer is getting close to retirement. Your Woos look like a solid bowl team. Miami has to many losses and Duke only has 1 loss but they still have no elite wins.

Yet VT still beat the cream of the B1G crop ... and Pelini wonders about why the B1G has perception issues? I don't know who is dumber the B1G fan bases or Pelini for thinking they can even touch the SEC ... look at what happens on the field.
