From comments that he has made in the past while at IMG, I think he just likes working with kids, helping them develop as student/athletes, helping them get into college.
Considering it's Texas, he's probably making similar money to what he would make in college.

In a daily article I posted today, there was a story on former SU football player Charles Burton, who is also a HS football HC. It looks like he was replaced by Acosta.

Sounds like he got another good job. He has a son, who happens to be a 5 star AA WR (Caleb Burton). But like Marvin's son Marvin Jr, he has decided to go to Ohio State.

What an unfortunate decision.

From what I've heard...the IMG model isn't sustainable in the long run. The national team kids don't pay and the post-grads/varsity (yes HS varsity) teams don't get the same exposure but basically foot the bill for the national team. Sounds like parents of those two teams are starting to pick up on this. Also, IMG is having trouble scheduling opponents for the national team.

It’s gotta be hard to go to a regular HS and coach after the collegiate environment of IMG. I’ll be rooting for him.

Great guy - very personable. He told me a funny story about then NYG HC Tom Coughlin once.

Basically, Bobby kept reaching out to the NYG and Coughlin directly looking for an opportunity to coach. Finally Tom Coughlin answers, and he says “Hey Coach! Thanks for taking my call, this is Bob…”

TC “I know who it is, don’t ever gd call here again!”

And Bobby never got an answer why, lol. I guess TC wasn’t a fan.
