How the hell do you call a TO? He literally killed his teams chances. The clock only restarts on a defensive penalty.

Louisville gave this game to Auburn. Auburn is not that good.

I am at a loss of words right now, did he not know how many to's he had?

It's worse that that. The time out should have been actually used earlier. On first down. What if there is a turnover? You let them run off 30 seconds for no reason. Use your time outs early. Then, they use it in a dead ball situation. What

Someone else must have called it. Someone else must have called it. I keep thinking that.

I missed what happened at the end but I'm always excited when Bobby Petrino looks like a jackass - which is often.
55 seconds left 3rd and 2 Auburn gets a first down but gets called for holding. Petrino calls a timeout before the 3rd and 12 play where the clock was stopped. He essentially ended the game. It is among the dumbest decisions I have seen from a HC in a long while.

I would be curious what coaching move you have sen that is worse than that.

Not too many, I really am interested to know what exactly happened.

Bobby just lying on national tv. He claims that he asked the ref and was told that it was a run off situation. If that had happened he would have complained and the refs would have corrected their mistake. liar.

Yes he did, the ref clearly stated that there is no run off, and most people know that to begin with. Typical Petrio, trying to throw someone under the bus, for his mistake.

Remember the Lester safety/holding play that everyone got weird about? Petrino showed why it could work.

run off and running clock are two different things.

I didn't see it. If auburn had the ball how did lville lose the game with the to?

Auburn would have had a 3rd and 12 w/55 seconds left and UL would have had 1 TO.
Petrino called the TO with the clock stopped and gave Auburn the ability to run the ball and eat all the time left because UL had 0 TOs.

I get it then that the TO call was bad but then lville still has to get the ball back and score; and from how far away?

They had scored 2 TDs in 2 possessions in the 4th quarter and the previous possession had gone 80 yards in a 1:30.

They would likely had to gone 80 yards in 45 seconds. They would have had it uphill but Petrino totally butchered the clock.
