Here is another example of the relevance of BC in the Boston market:

The BC football games are broadcast on WEEI, one of the two sports radio stations in town. After last nights thrilling SU game, my son asks if we can go to the general store and get some snacks. We get in the car and turn on WEEI just as the post game show wraps up. Then, to our surprise, we hear the SU fight song. The evening host is a Newhouse grad, and he proceeds to rant and gush about the game, and basically say that for the next few hours he is going to be obnoxious about the SU win. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Can you imagine this happening anywhere else? On the flagship station of BC sports? Are you kidding me?

Given what a great mood you were in, your son should have aimed higher than just some snacks.

I used to love listening to Teddy Serandis berate his listeners for not giving a shlit about BC sports, especially hoops.

People here can't comprehend how pathetic he was begging people to care about B.C. Actually said I am issuing a personal challenge to all B.C. students to show up for next weeks game. Teddy lived in my dorm one semester. I really don't believe he had a friend at Syracuse. Went home every weekend.

They also weren't playing the game on the regular 103.7. They were using something in the low 90s that doesn't even make it to Providence. The regular station (this is the station that broadcasts the red sox games) had on ESPN sports center.

The boston flagship is 93.7
