Bottom of screen score scrolls

They need to go. They served their purpose back when we were using dial up internet but now everyone has access to whatever scores they want to know right in the palm of their hands.

I paid for a big ass TV for the screen area and you are WASTING a good 25% of it with clutter that I
1. Don’t want to actually see
2. Forcing spoilers down my throat if I’m recording another game for a later watch.

If I was so interested in seeing these other scores guess what …. I’d be watching those games instead of this one.

I hate it so much and the only reason that I can tell it still exists is the laziest and least valid reason of all…….because we’ve always done it that way.

It’s actually the opposite . I’m a cord cutter and with YouTube TV I’m able to record every single basketball game at once …yet if the games im recording have the stupid scroll, there’s no way to avoid the spoiler . why can’t they make it like CC and give you the ability turn it off or on?

Is the scroller that big? Isn’t it just 2-3 inches tall?

I don’t mind it. I’m not a big fan of ESPN sending me score alerts on my phone, so the scroller/ticker is nice sometimes to see if there are close games worth bouncing over to.
