Long has great instincts. Arm strength needs to improve, but his touch is much better than Hunt's.

He is legit. Hopefully, this is the shot in the arm the offense needed to improve down the stretch. Between Long's infusion of playmaking and hopefully having a number of those injured players return healthy for the stretch run, we might be onto something here.

Honestly, his arm strength is much better than I expected based on the preseason descriptions. I was anticipating a noodle arm, but he's got some zip on his short/intermediate range passes and strong touch on all of his throws. I like.

Me too.

No doubt, he'll need to get stronger. He's an 18 year old freshman--duh.

But once he does, I think this kid has something special, in terms of his playmaking capabilities.

Yeah, as more of a casual SU football fan, it's fun to watch this kid. Arm looks decent, good touch - very exciting.

We still need to be able to stretch really good defenses.

Wake has a good D, but Clemson will be in our face.

Yeah, but I'm not going to knock Long for our team not being able to beat Clemson on the road, in his second start, on the road.

The difference is: if Long is as good as I think he'll prove to be, we might be able to beat Clemson at some point in his career--as amazing as that sounds.

Kid is making a believer out of me.

He scared the hell out of me when he three the long pass across the field in their last series. That could have been a pick 6. He's a gambler and will take chances, but he needs to recognize place and time.

The official drink of AJ Long.

Honestly if Long keeps it up I have faith we won't get blown out at Clemson and actually will be competitive.

Agreed. And we also have a stud WR. LOVE the fact that Long and Ishmael are the same year---that is gonna be a great combo for us going forward (hopefully for years), as it's been quite obvious the past two weeks that they have great chemistry together.

The TD pass to Ishamel that got turned back was perfectly executed by Long...Hunt wouldn't have made that throw.

And a terrible call by the official. But what touch by AJ

This has definitely been a pleasant surprise. Nothing against Hunt, I have always been a fan, but hopefully his injury turns out to be a blessing in disguise for the direction of this program.
