1) Syracuse, UNC and Notre Dame were all in the Elite 8 at the men's basketball tourney.

While looking at the brackets just now, I was struck by the oddity of it. UNC and Notre Dame will be tired of each other's fight songs by the time this spring is over.

you need to use the "elite eight" term a bit more loosely when it comes to lacrosse, there are only 16 teams in the tournament.
