they almost didnt get a shot off the last 4-5 possessions in a row. they never let any of the 3pt guys even take a shot the last 6-7 min. they guarded the big guy with their kid with 4 fouls so they gave kent 6-8 pts down the stretch

kentucky had 3 guys chasing him he needs to see that and find a way for someone to get a shot off.. kent didnt even look at another player on the floor. nd needs to sub in a shooter and take that time to get ready for a play

I'm torn on that timeout. I think it was a mistake as well, but in the heat of the moment I understood why they called it.

They weren't going to get a backcourt violation though as long as they kept pushing up court...

And that possession after the big three - I think the only person in the world that didn't know he was going to pull up for a fadeaway three with 1 second on the shot clock after stalling for 15 seconds and refusing to pass was, well, ummmmmmmmmmmm, nobody.

Exactly zero people didn't see that coming.

the TO he wasted was the one when ND didnt score on the last possession. why take a TO to say play solid D. and yes he should have done anything it took to make sure they had time left.. they only did because kent was just as bad and took too early a shot.. luck for them the charge was called as the other ref swallowed his whistle and the back side guy called it.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the college game is devoid of the 2-for-1 philosophy. That said, Brey is very progressive and I bet he called for it. Defense can affect things.

ND's missed 3 huge FT down the stretch. All by shooters that are 75%+ for the season. That is what got them. And Grant (who had a strong game), pounded the ball too much the last 2.5 minutes. Dang.

UK is very good. Very very good. That said, if they played in the ACC, they would have lost 2-3 games this year.

Almost akin to UNLV playing in the Big West back in the day.

They still have to beat Wisconsin and Duke (most likely).

Yep. ND has 2 other good 3 pt threats on the floor in Vasturia and Connaughton. Everyone on UK is chasing Grant. Pass the ball to an open shooter.

go back and watch the last 5 min.. ND stopped running its offense.. the center stopped playing D and didnt play offense when he got 4 fouls so put the other kid in and try to make towns earn at least 1 basket. kentucky earned a win, but ND was lucky they scored at all down the stretch. they barely even got off a shot the last 5 min.. still they make the FTs and they probably win.

Thought Brey coached an awesome game aside from the last timeout. I would've saved that to draw up something off a rebound or UK score. Aside from that though, seriously fantastic game.
