What's crazy is that I don't see any reason why we won't start to see that stat tick in our favor.

Game 1: lose starter in first Q
Game 2: true freshman 1st start, conference opponent with a decent D
Game 3: lose starter in 2nd Q
Game 4: start 5th string backup walkon vs top ten team

Throw in the fact that I think Erv is a big game changer and a unique cog?

We haven't seen our offense actually do well yet.

True enough.

What I like is that those big hitters look like they were designed well. LSU looked surprised when Estime went by their guy for 50.

we had one good half against cmu and lsu and both bad halves were caused by QB changes and jitters(i hope), and wake was much the same until suddenly we woke up got big plays and moved the ball really one good quarter.

I don't know -- Dungey seems to have the knack. In those type of games, sometimes one or two big plays can make all the difference.

My opinion only, but I think it is far more likely that with Dungey at the helm, we roll up a ton of yardage against most of the teams remaining on our schedule. We aren't so easily defended this year as we have been in the past, where our own offensive ineptitude stalled drives before they got started. And a big part of that IMO is the execution -- great to see us eliminating the lack of discipline penalties like false starts, etc. that are drive killers when you struggle to move the ball.

I'm not suggesting that Dungey is a finished product, that he's an all-american, or anything like that [yet ], but just having a guy with his playmaking apptitude gives us a huge advantage that we've lacked for a LONG time. And along with an improving running game, it will make us much more difficult to defend.

i am all in on dungey too. i think it's going to be like 2013 again - we're going to lay some eggs but hopefully we lay them in the games that we're probably going to lose.

To be fair too, BC just lost their starting QB Wade so I expect theirs to get worse and Pitt lost James Connor for the season, their starting RB, so I'm sure that's going to do nothing but hurt those teams going forward.
