When a new type of O comes along, it usually takes a few years for the D to adjust. Mumme’s system happens to still be going strong. Rich Rod’s though seemed to not be as effective as time went on. Chip Kelly’s isn’t looking too good right now either. The Briles system is having a bad year this year. It is early in the year (3 games is barely any data), but it might be something to keep an eye on.

Babers HC
1-2 120th PPG 115th YPG 126th YPP

Montgomery HC
1-2 106th PPG 109th YPG 118th YPP

Gilbert OC
1-2 102nd PPG 124th YPG 112th YPP

Briles OC
1-2 53rd PPG 65th YPG 72nd YPP

This is something I’ve had in the back of my mind for a while. If it’s a simple read/react type playbook - I wonder if there’s a simple “solution” to it too.

I will say, it seems Wake runs a similar system too and is doing fine.

Would be interesting to hear more from x and o guys.

Briles is in year one at FSU too. It takes time to get good at it, so that could explain some of it...

I missed that. Scratch him off. Which then means we have no data. I still wonder if the D has or will catch up though. Hopefully not.

I am jealous of Wake. When Babers first described his O, I thought that was what we would be getting. The go 10x faster than us. It did take until the 4th year for their YPP to take a jump. Hopefully we see the same the rest of the way this year.

I don't even think they ran it Clawson's first two years?
