Sounds like he will.

And I'm glad about that.

He has had great success - won a NC not that long ago and deserves the benefit of the doubt.

What? The internet journos were wrong? You don't say.

He's had great success?

Easily one of the most underachieving coaches in the BCS. When you get the top 25 players out of Texas every year and haven't been to the NC since 2006 you're not very good at what you do.

I'm glad he is staying at Texas as well (if true), but probably for different reasons than you. Fact is, Brown, at north of 5.5 million/year and with perennial top ten recruiting classes, is 30-20 since the start of the 2010 season.

I hope Brown stays. Don't want a domino effect where Muschamp then takes TX job (as had been rumored in past), then Charlie Strong leaves Louisville to go back to FL. I like Strong and want him to stay here.

Muschamp to Texas? LOL pretty sure that ship sailed on a long time ago

Well that's good. Maybe early in the season before FL tanked that scenario was more viable. I agree, now would seem pretty stupid. But dumber things have happened.

If I was a Texas fan i would thank Mack for everything, but want him gone. It's obvious he's on the downward end of his career. He is slipping, and the competition is coming. He isn't the king of the state anymore. With Sumlin in the SEC at A&M, and Art Briles at Baylor, things are going to get worse before they get better. Might as well just get rid of him now and get moving back in the right direction.

Sounds familiar.

Brown was a Colt McCoy injury away from winning his 2nd National Championship in 2010. Has underachieved since, which has to he tough for a program like Texas to accept. If Brown quits, who takes the job?

This whole situation still smells funny. It's almost as if Brown has agreed to step down if Texas finds someone suitable to take over (tried to get saban now going after TBD) or else he will continue coaching

What? The internet journos were wrong? You don't say.

Some of them are backpeddaling, saying that this means that no one will take the Texas job. Ummm, sure. There's probably no one out there that wants to coach and live in Austin, make $7M per year (or name your price) and have the easiest recruiting pitch to the most talent rich state in the country.

Texas is the Arrogant school out there. Saban sat on his extension for a week before signing the day some say Brown was staying. Arrogant in the way that Texas thinks there is no other good enough coaches out their instead of Saban who I believe is the same age as Brown.

So that throws out the theory that Mack is just too old.

Then you have Brian Jones (CBS)acting like he "OWNS" part of the longhorns claiming Texas needs to fire Mack as he can't coach, recruit and all sorts of other things. He claims after what has happened in the last two weeks just proves that Mack is no longer good for Texas. The clown,Brian Jones is a major problem for college sports as the Media has been driving these types of rumors and Jones works for CBS.

What he does I have no clue, but he was interviewed on a radio show today and he is pissed that Brown is still there

lol I wish

Well, this should start the dominoes falling. I can detect some hearts skipping a few beats in Louisville. Looks like Greg Robinson is on the road again with Willie.

are we talking Coach P, or Boeheim?

Jimmy is still at a high level. I was referencing the end of P's time here.

totally agree.

just got confused with your original post that was quoted referencing JB. Didn't even think it was a comparison .

He would have been if Brown had stayed. He committed to him to just finish the season for him.
