That orthopedic test isn't reliable. Imaging is always warranted in this case. As mentioned above. Increased movement doesn't necessarily indicate it tore unless it was gross. The imaging would be the definitive conclusion and that's when the swelling comes down for a more accurate and clear image of the knee. Either way, it could be sprain, bone bruise, or even a tear as you indicated. Time will tell. No need to jump the gun.
