When the best player on your offense is your QB, you don't take him out of the game for a gimmick like the wildcat.I'm really disappointed that broyld hasn't been used a whole lot in the wildcat or "stallion." Watching him in the HS state championship he threw the ball as well as any other HS QB i've seen recruited by SU and at least as well as paulus did in HS.
I also think that the bubble screen needs to be utilized more. It's a key play in the spread offense and we need to get our play makes the ball in space. Prince Tyson Gulley, Broyld and kobena should all have the chance to make one guy miss and run the ball up the sideline a couple of times a game. Marrone knows the play has hurt us enough from other teams.

Also, apparently you weren't paying attention during the Ron Spence era. No more bubble screens, please.

nah I know i was just messing around. but i kind of hate the bubble screen because I'm a Pats fan and we use it ALL THE TIME. I liked that play we ran with Lemon for the first down on Saturday, hope we run that again. I'd prefer just a RB screen though rather than a bubble screen. Too much can go wrong on a bubble screen. There's a difference between the Spence bubble screen (always thrown to a WR trying to get thru the middle) and the WR screens/RB swing passes outside that we featured quite a bit in the NW game, but haven't seen much of since. I assume it's still in the back pocket for one of the 4 remaining games. You get safeties cheating in the middle to stop our running game, it should work even better.
OMG, where have you been? I need you to stick around and fight that fight with me. I have zero doubt the kid has the ability, at least physically, hopefully we find out next year. Hope to see you more here!I'm really disappointed that broyld hasn't been used a whole lot in the wildcat or "stallion." I disagree. The problem with the bubble screen in Spence's offense is that it seemed like we ran it 1 out of every 5 plays. In this offense we run it never. Maybe that's a result of corners playing up on our receivers, since we have no true deep threat. However, if the opportunity presents itself, there is nothing wrong with sprinkling in a bubble screen here and there.
USC used it like magic against us. I'm with you on this.
According to Rahme, the reason Broyld wasn't playing much was that he was having trouble learning all of his assignments. I imagine adding in the Wildcat would make that even more of a challenge.I'm really disappointed that broyld hasn't been used a whole lot in the wildcat or "stallion." Bubble screens at SU don't work because our WRs are weak and can't block opposing DBs.

Not true. Sales and Lemon are very good blocking WR's.
Yep. West is our best blocking WR. Lemon is ok, Sales isn't very good.I respectfully disagree.
