Maybe it's because I never really never consistently read his articles before or that I moved out of NY almost 6 years ago, but has Poliquin always been this negative toward Syracuse football??? Man, he sounds like the trolls who comment on Syracuse.com.

He is a sports writer who hates sports. He pulled a "Mitch Albom" as I like to say. A guy who made all his money and a name for himself covering sports then one day decided he hated sports and instead of finding a new job he stayed in the sports field but just was negative about everything sports. And since he is negative about sports he wants you to be too.

I can't read two sentences of his without feeling sick to my stomach. I gave up on him a long time ago. Once in a while Syracuse.com will trick me into clicking onto one of his articles with an intriguing headline --- stupid clickbate.

He seems more negative to me over the last couple of years than I recall him before that. He has been very personal about it lately attacking Shafer's integrity multiple times, discussing what Missy Shafer said to him, saying the basketball team barely got punished, ...the list goes on and on. Just go look at the titles of the last 20 bits.

Because in this day and age negativity drives clicks to their articles that have sponsors plastered everywhere. Ps isn't making money so they needed to go the .com route. Dump the real articles and start blasting to get clicks.

His biggest problem is that he's just lazy. 3-4 columns a week. At least two of them are just cut and paste jobs from the same cranks that write him every week. The rest is recycled from past columns, even down to the stupid 1920s slang he keeps inflicting on us. He's been phoning it in for years.

I don't find Bud Poliquin to be interesting or clever, but generally speaking, I think there is an important place in sports media for cynicism.

I find him to be a dick. That's how his bits read to me. I don't find him to be just a cynic or negative.
