Buddy on his dad, Jim: "He's been one of the main enforcers (of the Covid protocols), just making sure of the social distancing if it's on the baseline, on the sideline." Focus is on keeping practicing and getting to games. "He hasn't taken one moment or anything to be negative."
Buddy on potentially playing with no fans: "It's definitely going to be tough. Fans are one of the best parts of playing here. ... But I think it could be a potential advantage since we do practice there with no fans." Buddy points to depth perception issues.
Buddy Boeheim said "it's been an adjustment" to practice with limited close contact. Hard parts have been high-fives, talking between reps, keeping apart during individual work. "You kind of get used to it and you're really just happy you're out there playing basketball."

Buddy on his brother Jimmy, whose season was canceled as an Ivy Leaguer at Cornell: "I couldn't imagine finding out right now that our season was canceled after all the hard work he put in this summer."
Buddy Boeheim on having zone experience w/ Joe Girard: "I think we've both gotten better with the zone." Buddy said 1-on-1 work with Jimmy and Eric Devendorf early during the pandemic was beneficial. He's bigger and stronger.
Buddy Boeheim praises newcomers Alan Griffin and Kadary Richmond. "I think Alan Griffin coming in has really surprised me with his motor." Buddy believes all the vets are better and implies it'll be a group effort in replacing Elijah Hughes' production.
Buddy Boeheim said he's doing his best to compartmentalize things 2 weeks before the season, given the rising Covid-19 cases across the nation, including at SU and within Onondaga County. The players are "itching" to have games after four months of working out amongst each other.
