Two weeks until Pitt. Hopefully we get a few starters back in that timeframe. Then we can perhaps approach a consensus on the whole "it's injuries" or "it's coaching" debate. Personally, I want to give Shafer and Co. a pass but there are so many instances where these kids are put in a position to fail that it's hard to blame it all on injuries. And the iffy decision-making for sure pre-dates the injuries. The lack of improvement in the execution of simple plays pre-dates the injuries. What the injuries have done is make it impossible for us to overcome the other shortcomings we have. That's my view. If we get the o-line back and we happen to win at Pitt, I'll be happy to eat my words.

Would have to get Miller, Robinson & Foy back -- and fully healthy -- to give this team a chance. Even then, none of the 3 QB candidates has the tools to get the job done for this team. Sorry to see that.

Blame coaching if you want. Team can't block, team loses in Q4. Not always, but that is our pattern. Hang close for much of the game, with defense. Can't block, bad things happen. Opponent gets a big play -- game swings. Gulley and West have had good years, but we lack explosive players to overcome adversity.

Here's my thing, people are using the injuries as an excuse right now which I don't totally disagree with. Been decimated on the oline and QB, but then what was the excuse in the beginning of the year because the same things were happening. People are just looking for reasons to keep them hopefull. I won't stop cheering, but I personally do not think he is the man for the job. Hopefully he proves me wrong, I wouldnt wish for anything bad to happen to this program.
