As much as I don't like Cal because of his history of cheating, the guy is showing himself to be an incredible innovator and he is absolutely dominant as a pitch man. Look at what he has done just recently: The 'extended' road trip where he takes his team to ESPN hq (players love it and free pub), he allowed UK fans to vote via twitter about which OOC rivalries to schedule when SEC conference games increase, the Anthony Davis poster thing (huge ego boost for the kid and must make other recruits salivate), the live broadcasting of open practices, etc. It really is amazing. Plus Kentucky is still Kentucky so it has its own swag.
I see Calipari as the Roman Polanski of College hoops. Everyone in the business knows he cheats and just ignores his vacated final fours and trail of damaged programs. Yet they can't help but to worship him. During that Vanderbilt game, Dickie V and Shulman (I think) were laughing it up about his "two years were vacated" joke. High comedy. They are totally willing to make light of rules violations that prevented another group of kids on a team doing things right to go to those Final Fours. The whole rest of their lives they preach the wholesome, student athlete, blah blah myths they love about CBB.
