USA Today reports that Calipari and Pitino were paid over $7 million . Coach K has earned that amount 3 times over recent years but since Duke is a private school, they way he is compensated is reported differently. At least 36 football coaches make > $3 million. Less that half that number of basketball coaches make that.

That reminds of the final 4 coaches discussion in 2013. Pitino said something about how he pays for dinner with Jim and how cheap Jim is and then says that he doesn't worry about money. Then Jim says, That's because you have so much of it. Which made everyone laugh.
