Calipari Seriously Considered $60M Deal With Cavaliers

7 year, $52 million extension at Kentucky instead. Reports saying deal also includes unlimited bracioles and hair grease.

Maybe the Cavs will come calling for Ollie...at this point it seems they are all-in to get Lebron back to Cleveland.

They did but he already turned them down to re-up with Yukon.

True, but those extensions don't mean anything if Cleveland gets desperate. They won't offer Ollie 80 million, but would he jump for 5/25 like Fisher/Kerr got.

Is Cal waiting for the Lakers to make an offer?

Wouldn't be the first time a college coach ran off after an extension.

The interesting thing about Cal's extension is that I believe there is no buyout. So basically he's free to bounce anywhere at anytime. I personally believe if Cal had that same offer that the Cavs had at a bigger market like LA/NY/CHI that he would've accepted it asap. Hard to imagine a slickster like that with the Cavs.

Cleveland is a better franchise than LAL right now. Kobe gobbles up 40% of the payroll, Nash is on the books for $10 million this year. They have enough cap space to sign 1 max player and you would have to convince him to play with Kobe on an awful team. Not very appealing for free agents. Cleveland has young talent, the #1 pick, and cap space.

Why would Cal ever leave Kentucky with that kind of money being paid? As Saban said, why compete with teams that get 1 first round pick when you can have a team that has 5 first round picks. When the odds are stacked in your favor you look good and both coaches Saban and Cal have proved they are not nearly the same coaches when other teams have the same or better talent.
