The DO had an article a few weeks ago stating that there were 29 reported burglaries of SU students homes during this year's winter break alone. Not trying to say there is an epidemic of violent crime but there is a major problem of break-ins with regard to student properties (not the dorms but slightly off campus). I know this from my own son's experience and that of several of his friends as well. The students are targeted for their laptops, X-boxes, cell phones, televisions and any other valuables that might be lying around.
