in Buffalo?

Uconn and Georgetown look like classic 8-9 seed teams, and I mean EVERY bracketologist I have seen has put Georgetown as SU's 8 seed. UConn isn't that good and if they make the tournament I think they are 8-9 seed at best. I totally expect come March 9, 2014 Syracuse will be a 1 seed in the East and Georgetown/UConn will be our 8-9 seeds if those teams earn NCAA bids. UConn could fall out of the tournament, and Georgetown still has to win some games to get in, but is where I think it is headed.

Yes. Without question. If we don't see either Uconn or Georgetown I will be completely shocked.

And we don't need Joe Lunardi to tell us this. He eats penne pasta with a spoon.

No, I don't think they would give UConn a path where they could get to MSG as an 8 or 9 seed.

They'll make the bracket that way, people will flip out for three days, and then Georgetown will lose in the first round again and we'll never see them.
That is the only way to prevent Georgetown from losing to another double digit seed again. 2008 # 10 Davidson, 2010 #14 Ohio, 2011 #11 seed VCU, 2012 #11 NC State, 2013 #15 SEED FGCU. Its Clockwork, Georgetown needs a double digit seed first round.

In all honesty, it is going to be hard to avoid our old big east pals. We can't play ACC teams so they are scratched off. The Big east (and Uconn in the AAC) will likely produce a bunch 4-8 seeds in the upcoming years. So chances are, we will see them somewhere.

That isn't true Cornell got put in Syracuse region as a 12 seed in 2010. In 2011 Harvard was put in Boston regional if they won 2 games. The committee won't preclude UConn from being in the MSG as an 8 seed. The advantage of regions is protect the top seeds in the opening weekend, they don't protect underseeded teams the whole way through. In 2011, North Carolina fans were pissed that they were a 1 seed in the St. Louis region with Kansas as the 2 seed, and when they met in the regional final Kansas had the homecourt advantage.

If UConn fits the bracket math in March they can be Syracuse's 8-9 game.

So wait, GTown would flame out in the 1st round again? Weird.

Yeah, you're motha's a Hoya, too!

Yeah I bet this is more likely to be the reason than any desire to face Su against Gtown. I really think they have too much going on to truly worry about stuff like that. There are so many teams and so many possible matchups that they are bound to get some great storylines purely by ignoring all that stuff

I am not saying I don't want Georgetown or UConn. I am just saying its an obvious talking point that will happen once the brackets are announced. I will say the committee is becoming much more transparent and open as to how they select and rate the teams that I am sure in the near future a journalist/TV crew will be given access to the entire thing in the near future. Syracuse vs. either UConn/Georgetown wouldn't scare me this year as we have the better team, and if we get that matchup if we want to win the NC then I am not afraid of these teams to get their.

There is a big difference between UConn and their history and the teams you cited. If UConn is an 8 or 9, I don't think they will be in the east.

The committee would be foolish not to. There are so many 1st/2nd round games with sparse attendence. Doing this would sell a ton of tickets and avoid that.
