Can HS athletes get NIL?

You should say they have to partner with their school in New York. Doesn't provide much opportunity or value...

Not sure what that means?

Found it. Give both Adams NIL
California

CALIFORNIA
Governing Body
: California Interscholastic Federation
State NIL Law: Senate Bill No. 26 – does not apply to high school athletes
Status: Confirmed Permitted
Governance: 2021-22 Constitution and Bylaws
Applicable Language: 212, Amateur Status
Notes: The current regulations permit a student-athlete to be compensated for their NIL, so long as there is no recognition of the student-athlete’s school, school logos, uniforms or insignias. Further information from the administration pointed to Bylaw 212 which reads a student-athlete shall become ineligible if they are, “wearing a school team uniform or any identifying school insignia while appearing in any advertisement, promotional activity or endorsement for any commercial product or service” or “lending his/her name and team affiliation for purposes of commercial endorsement”.

I read it the exact opposite. You can’t partner with the school and use the school name, logo or uniforms etc.
I think I stated it's very restrictive. No? My point is if someone asked "are there NIL opportunities for high school athletes in almost any state" The answer is basically "no". The restrictions are so tight at the high school level right now. That will eventually change.

I'd say that DaJuan Coleman was the last Syracuse HS athlete who was well known enough to capitalize on his name and looks. If this policy were in effect then, he could be doing commercials and appearances, just without the J-D uniform on.

I’m sorry, I just don’t read it like that at all. The only restrictions are the things you can’t do with the HS. You had said the opposite.

Seems straightforward

NEW YORK
Governing Body
: New York State Public High School Athletic Association
State NIL Law: N/A
Status: Confirmed Permitted
Governance: NYSPHSAA Rules & Regulations
Applicable Language: Section 2 Amateur
Notes: On October 20, 2021, the NYSPHSAA Executive Committee took action by approving revisions to the amateur rule, allowing student-athletes to monetize their NIL. Student-athletes will be prohibited from entering into endorsement deals “in affiliation” with their school, Section, or the NYSPHSAA

Same here. That last sentence was my point that it seemed the other poster was saying the opposite.

Cutting to the chase; is this where we now focus our Collective NIL deals on HS athletes as juniors to "pay them for their NIL" and not to sway them to come to our school...?

I'm aware of a 5 star WCAC kid, DC, getting paid by sponsors. How the $$$ washed IDK.

Right. Schools can’t be involved. Strict rules in NY on commercialism in public schools. Goes right to the NYS Constitution.
