Don't many teams practice over Christmas holidays, spring breaks and even play regulation games, tournaments etc? I think the college world series started last year even after when most college years ended. It seems crazy that it would be an issue but of course it is the NCAA who makes the rules.

SU only cancelled classes for a day. It's not as if the entire campus was being evacuated.
