Doesn't sound good based on this article.

The dreaded "lower body injury." Moore refuses to talk about it.

If he can't go we have Kobena starting in his place with 159 pound Chris Clark behind him.

Ugh.

Not real surprising as Lemon hasn't been able to stay healthy his entire career. Very unfortunate for him, as he's a talented kid, but some kids just don't have the body to withstand football contact.

You are right that Alec, like a lot of football players, has been injured on and off for much of his playing career at Syracuse. Despite all of it, broken bones, pulled muscles, destroyed shoulders, etc., I don't think Alec has ever missed a game. I bet he plays Saturday, and all the rest of the games this season.

Marrone mentioned that Lemon wasn't a sure thing in his interview with Matt Park yesterday.

I get the vibe that he's going to play but definitely a little more iffy than I had thought.

To answer your question, I think we can and would win without him.

For the umpteenth time, this is not some sort of deceptive secrecy or paranoia by the SU staff. Federal Law (FERPA) prohibits ANY university representative from disclosing ANY personal information about a student's record (which is why a student grade reports are sent to the students these days and not the parents). Similarly, HIPPA prevents any health care provider (such as a team MD or trainer) from disclosing any information about a patient's medical record. Marrone & staff are simply complying with the law and avoiding a potential lawsuit. Imagine a scenario where disclosing the nature of a star player's injury might affect his draft status.
Every team in the country is bound by the same laws.

He will be on the field barring a major unforseen setback.

As I noted I think he plays, though he might not be at 100%. Even as a decoy factor he is huge for this offense, without him that passing game is in huge trouble especially with Flemming being out till god knows when.

No he played, just wasnt very effective at all and didnt play a lot.

uhh, don't remind me. We were then subjected to watching Marcus Sales play a major role in that game :D

You're right. I was thinking of Van Chew. 2010- that was the year of Lemon drops because he was playing with a hand or wrist injury. Right.

I'm really looking forward to when Lemon breaks the reception record.

Even if Lemon plays in 2 days, he won't be 100%. We will see alot of WR sets anyways I think.

Yup, imagine the numbers he could have put up if he wasnt always dealing some major or nagging injury. Kid is a gamer, I would be shocked if he wasnt playing Saturday. Would be nice to get an update on Flemming, he went from day to day to completely off the radar. I know Marrone and staff cant give out exactly what is wrong but at least give us an honest timetable, so many times we hear a player is day to day or has a minor injury but then hes out for weeks on end, and less visible then a sasquatch.

If Lemon is banged up and/or doesn't play, I'll just expect West to step in and haul in 6 or 7 passes for 90-100 yards and a score.

Many, many schools disclose what the injuries are. The networks do it all the time in their pre-game/halftime shows and sideline reporting. I can't imagine that they are all violating federal law and getting away with it. It is more likely that they have all of their scholarship athletes sign waivers that allow the injury to be disclosed.

As an aside, I recently went through an appeal process with my health insurance company that required me to sign a HIPPA waiver so that certain people would be allowed to access the medical records during the process.

HIPAA is very specific and the fines very harsh. However, patients may grant a waiver to whomever they wish for whatever reason. If the person or entity receiving this information is not a health care provider or health plan covered by federal privacy regulations, the information may be disclosed to other individuals or institutions and no longer protected by HIPAA.

In other words it is up to the player. That is the law. But far be it from me to think that the networks might get information they should not have and actually use it! So long as they did not actually get the information from a covered entity, they are not subject to HIPAA.
