in attendance that is..

we need to avg close to 29K the last 5 games to have shot..

WV got 28.7
Uconn is pushing 32K
Gtown is pushing 29K
UL is pushing 29K
USG is lagging around 22-23k.

all that also depends on if the kids show? leaving whole sections empty is a good 1500+ against the attendance numbers..

if the school would just promote the next game as a record changer and offer some cheaper tickets I think they could add 1-2k, $10 upper deck seats with some promotion would get a good walkup going.,

USF is not gonna draw so its time to do something, we need to get 26K to have a shot.. but the 3K could come from better crowds vs UL and Gtown as well.. UL needs to get close to 32 for senior day so why doesnt the school promote it?

They chould have T-shirt night against USF... anyone who buys a ticket between now and tip off gets one of the old Dynasty or 20-0 T-shirts that they weren't able to sell.

If there are not 30K in here for Wed's Gtown game then the fan base out to be ashamed. This game is huge and it Gtown. Get the to the dome!

Agreed. Wednesday night be damned. There should be nothing more important to do in Syracuse than attend the SU-Gtown game.

Lots of us have family/work obligations in weekday evenings. Getting our kids to their events or doing work have to be more important. Sometimes it sucks being a grown up. As I recently told someone, when you have kids, you have given up your right to be selfish.

+1

Has there ever been a 30K+ crowd on a week night?

While I love huge Dome crowds for the big games, these posts make me wonder what people expect. In comparison to every other school, we do BETTER than all of them considering the size of Syracuse or not. Attendance is NOT an issue at SU no matter how many attend. Even if "only" 25K came to the GTown game, that would still be a bigger crowd than 99.8% of the other schools.

I am feeling a "When will we move the court to the middle of the football field" string of posts coming...

We could still do it even if USF is a light crowd. Maybe people will come out to see what the grays look like? But either way, I'm feeling 33-34 for senior day, with a 50/50 chance at the all time record.

I hope so, got my tickets to that game. Missed the Nova game in 10', would love to be a part of history this time around.

you can bet your ass that's why they chose the grays for USF. Might get an extra 1k or so from curiosity.

Only nine times (one of which was a Friday), and not since 1990. Not going to happen.

For what it's worth, it looks like closer to 25,000 tickets have been sold for Georgetown, not 29.

Some combination of 118,000 people in the next four games would allow us to catch Kentucky. Say, 27,000 for Georgetown (maybe a little unlikely), 34,000 (probably a touch high) for UConn, 24,000 for South Florida (quite unlikely), and 33,000 for Louisville (absolutely attainable, especially if we keep winning) would do the trick.

More realistic numbers would be 26,000 on Wednesday (which would be the fifth-largest weeknight crowd since 1993), 33,000 for Connecticut (if we win on Wednesday), 22,000 for South Florida (doesn't matter how good we are or what jerseys we're wearing; SU fans won't turn out on a weeknight for an unglamorous opponent), and 33,000 for Louisville (if we're not coming off a swoon; if we lose three games in the next few weeks, take 1,500 people off that total). That'd leave us a bit short.

Looks like the difference between #1 and #2 will have been the stretch that included the tiny Providence crowd, the poor Pitt sales, and the student no-show against West Virginia.

Perhaps, but so much is dependent on how we play in the weeks before that game. Coming off a loss, or even a bit removed from a loss (like we saw against West Virginia) kills some of the buzz and keeps away some curiosity-seekers.

The 4:00 p.m. start is also less than conducive to a record crowd (though we did get our second-largest for a noon game).

Email sent to MFH...I suggested selling some cheap tix for USF and promoting UL as a record crowd night.

damn we need spell check on here ... the first few posts were brutal

I think it's because USF is not a Nike school.
Come on now, we don't want the facts to get in the way of BlueCurtain's conspiracy theory. ;)
