Clemson unveils Indoor Practice Facility video

A new 80,000 square foot indoor football practice facility on the Clemson University campus will be constructed. The facility will house a full size synthetic turf football field and will feature a coaches tower, training room, video recording platforms, proper lighting, and suitable sound systems. The building will be adjacent to the football practice fields and the indoor track facility.

The facility is expect to cost an estimated $10 million, which is about the same amount of money that offensive coordinator Chad Morris will earn from the university over the next six years if he remains at Clemson. Dabo is hoping the facility will be complete by January of 2013.

Death Valley Clemson is a place and atmosphere I really want to experience someday on Saturday.

10 mil. really isn't that bad. We really need something and I hope it comes soon.

it's amazing how much more it costs universities to pay their players through facilities.

if your employer said instead of $1,000, we're going to pay you by letting you pick whatever office chair you want, it would need to be a ridiculously luxurious and expensive and cost way more than a thousand dollars to make me indifferent between the chair and the cash. the chair would pretty much need smoke machines, speakers, laser beams and jet packs. otherwise, no thanks, I want the cash.

but since schools can't pay players , they do all this weird stuff. "I know we can't pay you but look at this - flat screens every direction you look as long as you leave them here! don't go walking off with one though like cater nuh uh"

players who are indifferent between $1000 bucks and a 80000 sq foot facility end up getting paid in facilities. pretty wasteful.

Wow. So their OC makes more than our HC? That is the difference with big-time football programs right there.

I said the same thing a while back, without the better analysis. It is absolutely paying the players through fringe benefits. Same thing that happened with employer-offered health insurance when that custom originated.

Clemson got its 1st commitment from a hs sophomore qb yesterday

"The sophomore who set Hall County, Georgia, records last season for yards in a season (4,324) and touchdowns (57) already had an official offer from the Tigers and made the decision with a phone call to Tigers coach Dabo Swinney late in the afternoon."
