Can't wait--heading up to practice tomorrow...

Are all you guys (and gals) that go to practices big donors or something? I would kill to watch a practice...is there any way for us regular joes to go?

You have to be a friend of the program.. or a good friend of someone who is...to attend practice at the Melo Center. Otherwise, it would be chaos in there. There are no bleachers or anywhere to sit... and there is practically no room court side... and you have both the men's and women's teams practicing there. It was built as a practice facility for the teams... not a place for visitors.

When practice was held at Manley... there were bleachers there... and lots of room for visitors. Not so at Melo Center

Please tell us the TRUTH about Roberson. Don't pull any punches! I assume you will bring a large notebook with you?
I'm hoping its a lot more upbeat that Adrian's evaluation of Roberson. As for pulling punches, RF is a straight a shooter as it goes .. I'm envious as hell.

I just got out of UK practice facility. Girlfriend was here for Keenland (horse racing) and I tagged along to see some friends. They looked as advertised. Talent in the gym was downright scary. I was here at same time the year they had Kanter (kind of), Knight, etc... Wasn't even close. This team is WAY more talented. Still along way to go in terms of learning to play together and learning the scheme and all this talk of undefeated is just foolish. That said late in the season...

Willie Cauley-Stein must be hurt because he was in street clothes. I was actually more impressed with Aaron Harrison than his brother. Obviously a small sample but he can really really score it. Reminded me of Eric Gordon. Dakari has a long way to go. Not even close to being ready. Randle is a man child. A lefty Chris Webber with Chris Anderson's motor. If he's not the best player in America it's going to be a great year of college hoops. Poythress and James Young looked meh. I'll take Tyler any day of the week before Andrew Harrison. Not as talented but a better true point.

Facility is quite gorgeous but I still like the Melo Center more. Can't wait for the season to start. Looking forward to your take on practice RF

So, can Roberson become the next "THE TRUTH" just like Paul Pierce was with the Celtics for so many years?

Why, yes, I believe (or hope) so.

Good write-up, but UGH, discussion about UK's team! Also, the inside of Rupp Arena is the exact opposite of gorgeous!

AND, the practice report will be coming tomorrow morning!

Sorry folks--duty calls...

Fortunately, I have some interesting practice observations to report, but to live up to Rocco's "demand" of a 5K word masters thesis, I need to defer until tomorrow AM.

I hear he is waiting for the check from the pay side to clear before he posts.

Oh wait...
