I absolutely loved Carl. I mean just close your eyes and think of the limitless famous SU moments that he announced. He had a crisp, understated, old-school voice. There was a simplicity to his announcing that was perfect.

Well, to be fair, Carl really didn't say it many times if it was after Forth baskets.

Carl was great. The best. Stayed probably 3-4 years too long, but he earned it.

His intros during the 80s are burned into my head.

I recall one game he introduced Terrence Roberts as "Terry Roberts." Terry went straight over to Carl and told him "it's Terrence, not Terry and never call me Terry again."

I recall this too. Almost positive it was against WVU.
