to help the Yankees get into the playoffs and the bigger job of the WS which I really kind of doubt.The pitching losses are kind of irreparable especially Tanaka's Francis and McCarthy are not going to fill any gaps in the rotation. Whitely showed that his emergence might be temporary and in the past. Phelps might be reliable at long last.

If the Red Sox and Yankees weren't such high rivals they would match up well in a trade. So don't want to overpay Jon Lester and would be exactly what the Yankees need. I doubt the Sox trade Lester to the Yankees but that is the type of player the Yankees need.

I hate to admit it, but I think the Rays and Sox have a better chance of reaching the postseason this season than the Yankees. I am okay with it. We are spoiled.
