We’re high ceiling but also very unproven outside of Mintz so it’s tough to get mad about it.

#1 our defense has to be stellar.

Even on offense, Bell and Taylor are our best shooters and I don’t think either can create their own shot.

JJ needs to have a year like Mintz did last year, I know everyone likes to say he was all freshman ACC and he was, but he wasn’t good last year by any metric, he needs to be good.

Westry is a question mark.

Mintz if he can play like he did the last half of the year I’m not worried about him at all.

Benny, can he stay engaged for 30 minutes?

All of our centers are question marks.

Brown is steady and while you NEED a guy like him on your team, he can’t be your second or third best player.

I think we can win 25 games, but I also think we could win 15 games. One of the weirdest teams we’ve put together since I’ve been alive.

We could look like Baylor the year they beat us in the 8/9 game which was a season there was clear evidence they were on the brink. NCAA team with a solid resume that's clearly in and has the talent to do some damage in March that is ready to take off in 24-25.

When they start getting turnovers for easy baskets, the effort will come.

I’m optimistic about this season, but I wouldn’t have us in a preseason bracketology at this point either. It’s irrational until the players on our roster translate into on-court success. Show me something in Maui.

His defense is going to be what surprises folks. He is a menace on that end.

Offensively the thing that will make this team hard to guard is the ability off the bounce and the playmaking of Chance to go with others. Now shots have to be made off that playmaking but mismatches will be an issue for other teams. Who do you put your best defenders on. It's nice to potentially have multiple talented 2 way players.

I hope so, but I’ve heard this about pretty much any player that’s come through here.

Agreed. I think he starts unless we really struggle shooting which I don’t think we will. Apparently Bell is working hard though.

Oh man, I hate even contemplating "next year." Everything is so unpredictable now, I think my dreams of being able to build over the course of 2 or 3 years feels like it's gone.

Good point... It's like our dreams came true, getting an McDonald's All American transfer and other star recruits. But it happened almost too fast and now all we can do is worry about it.

At the very least two important check boxes got checked. We know Red can recruit high school kids and transfers at all elite level.

I will say that a lot of this is coming from non SU opinion with Westry at least. Now that doesn't guarantee anything but it does come from sources that have been watching a much better team and talent than what we've put on the floor of recent.
