There's no write up to justify their votes, but given the departures on both sides of the ball and Dungey's durability, perception is reality. Hopefully, this core of guys can shock some people and prove doubters wrong about SU.

SU is last until they prove otherwise on the field.

Agreed. Hard to really make an unbiased argument that we should be ahead of any one in the division. Who would we be ahead of WF, BC or Louis? Happen to be the last 3 games we played and we took a 162-67 beat down over those games. Obviously a lot of factors were involved and last year no longer matters but hell not being picked last by each of them is kind of surprising.

Our talent needs to be better to get more respect.

People bury their heads when they think we are better than we should be predicted to be.
Dino is increasing our talent level.

You're spot on. I don't think anyone could actually make the case. But the gap isn't as great as 162-67 IMO:

1. We have the better QB
2. Wake and Louisville are replacing their QBs
3. Our D was rated better than Louisville, who now has a new DC (the ND guy who sucks)
4. Not one of those teams faced an Eric Dungey led team last year
5. The last time BC saw ED he was destroying them on on their own field

This is the same as Phil Steele's prediction and I'm a big Steele guy. Nothing new here.

But I'll tell you what ...we ain't finishing last

Here's the other thing. Last year we played the 3rd toughest schedule in the country. I'll say it again: Cuse played the 3rd toughest schedule in the country last year!

On top of playing that ridiculous schedule, we produced very few turnovers. No one wins doing that, and Cuse won 4.

We have seen adversity before, year in and year out. Schedule lightens a little this year and there's the likelihood that the defense forces more turnovers.

We may very well surprise a few more teams this year. Just don't conk out verse WMU

I'll say one more thing cause I'm getting fired up: go ahead and intercept Dungey, and get ready to have him 1) take the ball right back out of your arms, or 2) rip your helmet off as he tackles you to the ground

prop bet in vegas now is Su+1 vs the bills total wins..

is it another long football season in ny state

Louisville anywhere from 3rd to 6th. BC anywhere from 2nd to 6th.

Outside of Clemson, this is a wide open division. I think we'll be better than 7th, but it's not a guarantee. Even if we are 7th, we still could be a pretty good football team.

We have to change people’s perception. You can also tell what CFB “reporters” actually do their homework. 3 straight 4-8 seasons with a solid recruiting class, but no 4 or 5 stars that will get the notice of people.

I’ve said it numerous times, but I think we can really have a magical year if we can stay pretty healthy. The only non-winnable game is Clemson . The rest I will think we have a good chance to win regardless of the opponent.

With that said I can see how we are projected last. BC is getting too 25 love after a sophomore RB who is getting Heisman love, their whole OL, which was good last year, and 2 first team all acc players on defense Zach Allen and Lukas Denis (former recruit).
Wake had some losses, but they are viewed as being on an upward trajectory after going bowling the last few yesrs
Louisville looses Jackson, but still have Petrino
NC ST has possible 1st QB in next years NFL draft.

So who out of those teams do you put 3 straight 4-8 Syracuse over?

I think we could finish ahead of Wake, BC, Louisville, potentially NCST. I also think FSU is severely over rated and will have a 4-5 loss type of year. IMO Taggert is one of the most over rated HC’s in country.

The Florida State game is so huge. New coach, coming off a bad year (for them), and at home. I know they have Francois back, but losing him wasn't their only issue last year.

Win and likely go into Clemson 4-0. Lose a tight one and we're still okay, but another moral victory. Lose badly and it's same ol' bad Syracuse. We'll know where we stand September 15.

Jerry Palm? More like Rosie Palm!!

Barton Simmons? Gotta be a close relative to Spaulding Smails!

Amirite!!!
