While I agree with your point as things stand now, it would be less easy for the P5 to ignore the G5 threats because they would need the SOS.  The powers would still need to avoid pansy OOC scheduling to rack up wins.  Would Wiscy get a sniff of the playoffs this year?  They have no quality wins while UCF has two (both Memphis, but Memphis was ranked).  Simply scheduling body bag games would be tempered a bit.  Not to mention, the G5 would be able to recruit a little better by offering better players more playing time with a chance at the playoffs as opposed to riding the pine for 1-3 years and then getting a "shot" at playing time.

Regardless, if a Toledo or FAU with no quality wins gets in, they are likely to be seeded in the 15-16 range and the top2   teams would have the easy games.  However, UCF would be ranked higher and have a better shot at an upset win.

After week one, the real games start and just like in hops, a really hot team can go deep in the playoffs.
