I thought this was interesting. The difference between the highest number of offers (Southern Miss) and lowest number of offers (Rice) is stunning. The offers are for the class of 2020.

Spoiler alert - Syracuse is in the top 10 for number of offers.

My favorite quote from the story - Southern Miss made 98 football scholarship offers to defensive linemen in the 2020 recruiting class (247Sports). Stanford made 74 offers. Total.

Here are the numbers:

Sooo, bottom line is we are not hitting on our top targets. Hopefully the new coordinators recruiting chops can help bring some of those top offers home to the dome.

Army had FIFTY SEVEN COMMITS??!!

Navy had SIXTY FIVE!!

Air Force a bunch of slackers - only 46. :p

Even Trump would have to agree that is likely #FakeNews - do they get infinite walk-ons?

So... this is why I think the whole "at Syracuse we don't want people to know which QBs we're 'crootin because other programs watch who we offer and steal 'em" thing is weird.

I don't think that's it at all. Our recruiting philosophy seems to be to cast a wide net. You're always going to have a low percentage when you offer that large a number.

Service Academies don't give out athletic scholarships.

Stanford gets 34% of their recruiting targets but Alabama only gets 10%. I would have imagined it the other way around
