my conjecture is that red sees himself as a father figure to his players and cares for them as such...but it clouds his vision as to how good they actually are and what they can actually do...and also maybe hes just a bad talent evaluator

i like that red cares so much for his guys...i think its why he is a great recruiter

but hopefully the GM can cover for his weakness in roster construction (if he is here next season)

and he can get different...way more skilled assistants that can cover for his other weaknesses in game management, strategy scheming etc

i really dont mind the idea that red is more the pr guy/recruiter/face of the program and other people handle the technical aspects of his role...i think that thats the only way he could he stay on
