Chandler Jones

I wonder if he is interested in coaching after football:)

As a Pats fan, I wish he never tried synthetic marijuana.
Patriots wouldn’t be able to afford him without letting depth go. The Pats got Joe Thuney and Malcolm Mitchell with the pick they got for him and that helped win SB 51.

The guy was a nice player but not a fit for the Patriots system he failed to set the edge on running downs.
He is better in a system they just want him to pass rush and not be responsible for run gaps.

does jon bones have eligibility ?suit him up. master of disaster sack.

I was looking something else up about chandler and came across this piece. It’s a great read loo

Career statistics in NFL

Chandler Jones Sacks 88.5 Solo Tackles 283 FF 24

Good call Barnes.

He clearly didn’t like Jones at all, couldn’t see what everyone else saw.

I was surprised he was considered a first round pick back then too. Of course, I do not consider myself a draft guru and have never been payed to be an NFL scout.

After the season I didn’t think 1st round either but as the draft process went on it seemed like he was getting talked about a lot. A lot of teams were looking for athletic freaks with good measurables and he fit that perfectly. I remember watching the draft and it seemed like everyone was saying someone would grab him before the 1st round ended. So when the Bears passed on him I remembered being so mad because i had a feeling he was going to get picked pretty soon after them.

His combine numbers didn't suggest athletic freak though. He seems to be a bit like J.J. Watt where his athleticism translates better to the field than drills.

Good measurables = long arms, tall, initial burst, ability to rush QB or drop back. Didn’t mean his combine numbers specifically. Lots of teams were looking for guys of his build around that draft year.

I still remember when he was wearing a knee brace against West Virginia in a regular season game and he overpowered a double team and sacked their QB and was like WOW, what the hell just happened there.

Kid was a monster and was light when he signed to Cuse, worked his ass of to gain weight and got up to 255-260 and dominated.

It's weird that didn't translate to better numbers when he was here.
