He's doing a complete purge. This was a calculated statement, and like his removal of players, he is telling everyone in Texas that he's going to tear done and rebuild. I don't know if it will do any damage control with the boosters, but he's telling everyone that he inherited an undisciplined team.

I don't know if Patterson is the right AD to hold off the boosters, but Strong could rebuild them into a title contender if they give him enough time.

The buck stops with him clearly, but at some point it's on the kids to get their stuff together. If the team doesn't show up with any energy or interest in playing, in my eyes, thats on the kids. If the kids are ready to go and the gameplan has them doing it all wrong so that they look stupid then thats on the coaches (and this is the case more often than not).

Give Charlie Strong 2 full years and he will have Texas back in the top 10 every year. That man is a good coach and took over Louisville after Kragthrope G-Rob'ed the Cardinals. Strong is cutting the fat off the Horns team and will recruit Texas really well. I give him time if I am Horns fan. Texas isn't good this year, but I could them going 7-5 and just rebuild for next year.

Yeah. I meant a rebuild in the sense of a team that fits his image, style, and expectations. No one in Texas is happy with being surpassed by A&M and Baylor

The guy rebuilt Lousville from kragthorpe which was almost as bad as G-robs years, he has a great defensive mind. I think he knows what he is doing, I wouldn't question him if I was a Texas fan. He is a great recruiter and Texas basically recruits itself. He will get the best of the best and will have a top 5-10 defense within 3 years and will lead that team to where it belongs. He is generally a strong motivator, he is doing what this team needs, giving them a reality check. They think just because they are Texas they can walk in and win. But I think he will get it turned around, I think Texas (not going out on a limb here) may be the best coaching job in america, countless resources and the fertilist of the fertile recruiting basis. Idc if A&M is the team in Texas right now, or Baylor is the oregon of Texas, once Charlie gets it on track they will flock to UT and A&M will be an afterthought.
