A little over two years ago, in the Spring of 2023, right after it came out that Adam was no longer “involved” with SU athletics [which was around the same time that JB was “retired” as head coach, which may not have been a coincidence in timing], as some have mentioned in this Forum and is alluded to in the article, I heard from a reliable source that the SU leadership was deeply concerned about ANY possibility of the NCAA looking at their NIL and related activities. This was after two past problems as is discussed in Chris Carlson’s article. And it might have been that they were concerned about Adam’s activities. Hence his defensiveness of saying that he had had it all checked out. Given SU’s concern, they may have just decided they didn’t want to take ANY chance and in effect, stated or not, that they didn’t want any direct involvement by Adam in their program. (And to think that he may have bid on the naming rights of the Dome – that would never have happened.). Again, we may never know the full story until the Chancellor, or someone speaking for him, is willing to discuss it, which likely will never happen. [/QUOTE]
