Christmas interview while working out for the Lakers

I predict the Lakers will take Mudiay #2 & Roc #34

rac will be long gone at 34

That would be my guess as well. After Okafor, Kominski and Towns he probably the best know quantity as a big man. I know there are a couple big foreign dudes but thats every year. I just cannot see every playoff team passing on him late in the first round.

I think he goes to the Clippers late first round. They need a reliable understudy to Jordan.

He would be a good fit there but it would likely be just center since SF is their weakest position, but against teams like the Warriors and Rockets who often go small it would help them having two very athletic guys in Blake and Rak that could also punish smaller guys inside. Maybe they will bring in Wes to replace Barnes and draft Rak. That would get the some new fans from Orange nation for the Clips.

Clips don't have a pick in the draft this year. Their first round pick was included in the trade with the Celtics.

Ahhh did not know that. He would of been perfect there.

The random foreign guys are the problem though, especially once you get into the second round. Lots of productive college players get pushed out of the second round by teams picking foreign projects who won't even come to the states for another 3-4 years, if ever.

I just looked it up and you are correct but interestingly enough the Lakers also have the 27th pick from the Rockets so they very well could take him there he is still available and they don't think he makes it to the 34th pick. Here is the order after the lottery, below. I think there is almost no way that he gets into the second round. Starting with Memphis (25), San Antonio, LAL, Boston, Brooklyn, Golden St (30) I find it hard to imagine one of those teams is not ecstatic to see he is still available and take him. I expect whoever gets him will get there pick in very quickly as they will have been hoping he was still there.

15. Atlanta (From Brooklyn)
16. Boston
17. Milwaukee
18. Houston
(From New Orleans)
19. Washington
20. Toronto
21. Dallas
22. Chicago
23. Portland
24. Cleveland
25. Memphis
26. San Antonio
27. L.A. Lakers
(From Houston)
28. Boston(From L.A. Clippers)
29. Brooklyn (From Atlanta)
30. Golden State

Agreed but this is exactly why I think he goes late first round to a playoff team that wants a rotational bench guy who can compete right away. Teams trying to win now!

possibly, and the Lakers also have the 27th pick, but I'm not sure Roc is going to command a guaranteed rookie deal. He's a great value in the 2nd round, might be a reach in the 1st.

Boston has been the kiss of death for SU players, right up there with Minnesota.
Well, if you are referencing Fab Melo, I'd say it was the other way around.

I just hope he plays well wherever he ends up. Would love if we could get a successful Cuse player in the NBA.

The more the better. Melo ddin't play last season, Dion bounced around, MCW was traded, Wes played for LAL and they stunk and Ennis barely played. Is that it right now? I'd also love to see CJ stick on a roster next year.

Jerami Grant got a decent amount of playing time for Philly, and did OK overall though his shooting was terrible. Onuaku got a 10 day contract and played some games at the end of the year.

It was a rough year for SU players. I guess the positives would be that while Melo got hurt and had surgery, he still made the All Star team and was putting up 24 and 7 while playing hurt for several months, and while MCW got traded, it was to a playoff team so he ended up the starting PG on a playoff team.

That would work out well for Rak. He could be in the rotation there.

If they don't take Towns or Okafor at two, it would be good for him, if not hes not going to get much pt behind Randle and either of those two.

they won't take him if they use their lottery pick on a big . . . but unless Towns falls to them, they won't, because I think they will value both Mudiay & Russell over Okafor

If the Lakers take Okafor at #2, they would need a defensive minded 4 to play alongside him, enter Santa!
