According to a friend of mine, the thing that appealed most to me (ability to broadcast a tab in Chrome) is really choppy.

you have to factor in what you are trying to stream. it cant make bad streams better and some things are going thru the cloud to chromecast others are going thru your own network twice so you have to factor that in as well..

I have one and YouTube and Netflix from my phone steam perfectly.

youtube and netflix are direct streams and they already load balance so they should be good out of the box

I have one coming at the end of the month once Amazon fills the order...excited for it.

I bought a Roku, and love it right out of the box.

Ten minute install.

Netflix streaming is MUCH better, and I can stream HBO GO to my TV (charter won't let me get premium channels with my TiVo).

i love my roku as well.. the chromecast will be used on tvs once in awhile where the roku isnt already connected to a tv. right now the roku us still much better
