I’m with you. The steaks have been mediocre. The quality of other food is mediocre. And I saw somewhere that like 90 pct of the products in the store now are “wegmans brand”. And don’t even get me started on the traffic at the Fayetteville one. I’ve been going to Lombardis since I moved back

Lombardi's is good as is Vince's in N. Syracuse. Vince's supports WAER and public radio.

Around the same period they cancelled sponsorship of the LPGA at locust hill; started substituting "Wegmans" brand for national brands on a mass scale; raised prices (beyond inflation); moved merchandise every few months to confuse customers into purchasing products they don't want; sold their soul to the Chinese for non-grocery items; started taking pay-offs from vendors in exchange for allowing them to order inventory and even stack Wegmans shelves. "Food you feel good about" is now "the business model you despise".

When I'm in Syracuse during the Summer and go to Wegmans in Fayetteville I have always found the service and friendliness of the employees there to be subpar. Many times I've stopped at the service desk on the way out and told an employee there - if you want to know what good service is in a supermarket -- visit Publix in Florida. Way way better. And friendlier. I've never understood why people rave about Wegmans.

The entrance ànd lanes are just not setup right. Its always interesting when you have to turn left, 2 lanes are goîng left but all cars need to go right once you make the left.
And of course the cars in the left lane drift over into the right lane without looking.

This. If you live elsewhere and are used to places like Stop n Shop under the ahold umbrella, Wegmans is amazing. But if you know what Wegmans used to be, there’s also no substitute for the current thing.

There’s Publix and Wegmans and then there’s everything else IMO. But Kroger will eventually ruin Publix.

Try Highland Market, smaller but wonderful and service like you are shopping in 1956. I am an older but very fit gentleman and a young bagger insisted on carrying my bags to my car and refused a tip just the other day. Great, fresh food and wonderful meat. Labonnes has great food too.

ive also found myself going to specialty stores like Lombardis. Vinces, etc for certain items.

We are a wegmans family going back. I worked there, my sister, my brother works for their corporate offices. It has gone downhill with all of the Wegmans brand stuff. I never realized it until you go to a store like Green Hills and they have stuff I completely forgot about that Wegmans doesnt even carry. The meat is meh, seafood is so-so. Prepared foods are way overpriced. Subs suck. Its still better that most stores especially when you are comparing it to places like Food Lion but its not what it once was for sure.
