CJ Fair!

Yeah, nice to see he's hitting his shots again.
Doing a good job on the boards too.
He's looking more like the impact player he was last year.

Pretty sure he'd have 3 more points if Fab could keep his hands to himself

only 12 rebs? I thought I counted 14. Whoever called him out was dead wrong the last two games.

Learning his role. He knew the need was there for rebounding, so he got back to it and will get the minutes for doing it. His offense is a great bonus.

12 rebounds. 6-8 for 14 points. Three assists a blk and a steal.

Waiters, Scoop and CJ played the best today.

He did not play well against Gtown. Yeah he did ok on the boards but I wouldnt be congratulating anyone for their rebounding efforts in that game.

I knew he'd bounce back though. He's probably our most consistent player.

He's clearly a better player this year. Hotting the mid range jumper and the free throws with much more regularity.

I can't get over how some of you are talking like this is something new for CJ. He is our leading rebounder and over the year our most consistent player. He just stepped it up a notch today. :noidea:

Great game by CJ today. Effort was up. He almost never tries to do too much. He plays within himself pretty well.

When Fair is on like he was today, we're a so much better team. I have to remind myself he's only a Soph.
One of the announcers (Kellog I think) said Fair is like Sponge Cake (Pound Cake?) - simple sweetness, or something to that effect. It's the kind of nickname that could stick: C.J. "Sponge Cake" Fair.

Not saying it's something new, but his shooting the previous few games was a bit off. Just acknowledging that it's good to see that he found his stroke again today.

He played well on the defensive end as well, his presence and quickness prevented a handful of seemingly open 3s from going up - and he almost always recovers well, too. CJ has developed into a very solid all-around player, and like an above poster noted, THE glue guy on this team.

He needs to keep hitting (and practicing) that mid-range jumper.

In the summer I'd like to see him work on his hands and holding onto the ball as he drives to the hoop.

CJ UN-Fair had the game of his career today! JB refused to take him off the court because he was a BEAST on the boards, he wanted EVERY rebound. Stellar game! Giving Dion a run for 6th man award!

Every shot he takes is clear look.

This needs to go into the historical archives along with Thickburger. (and stay there!)

CJ was excellent. Never ever does he force. Just a smooth game today, plus his dominant rebounding performance. Our best player today.

On a worse note, the other back up wing, Southerland is still struggling big time. Got to get him like he played @ Cincinnati.

He's the POUND CAKE!!!!

Seeing that right next to your avatar...

And that poundcake reminded me of the Van Halen song by that name, although I don't know if anyone on here is old enough to remember it. lol

I don't mind spongecake. It actually works better than poundcake for wiping the glass and sucking up rebounds. Poundcake might be be better fitting for Fab. Not sure what kind of cake KJo would complete the front line with, though.

What is this Thickburger anyhow? Is it like a thirdpounder? What's with all this pounding today?
