and Dion only 13. Is it just me or did
it seem like those numbers should be reversed? Those were the quietest 18 points ever (although that dunk sure was nasty).

Seemed like Dion was driving and scoring at will so it surprised me that he only had 13. Gotta love all the assists from Dion. He is becoming the complete package.

CJ had 16.....one of his best games. He only missed one shot. A three attempt I think.

The box says he didn't miss any. I listened on the radio though.

Box Score for CJ is incredible (if true)
6-6 FGs, 4-4 FTs, 5 Rebs, 1 block, 1 steal, no turnovers, no fouls in 29 minutes. A net points machine.

cj had a nice line but played 9 more minutes and finished with the scrubs.

CJ is the quietest player ever. When I look at the statline it seems like it always comes out of nowhere. Him and Southerland both have been awesome at being at the right place at the right time lately.

Dion should have had another 5 assists though, we finished pretty poorly on dishes down low. Too many failures to go up strong, and too many "oops I wasnt expecting that pass" turnovers.

Would you be expecting a pass from Dion?

I kid, I kid...

I think it's quiet because half or more of his points are usually of the offensive rebound put-back variety. Versus Dion "flash" Waiters thunder dunks.

He definitely missed a 15-footer from the baseline in the first half.

DePaul's stat crew didn't do a great job tonight. I thought CJ played one of his better offensive games, though.

He was fouled on the shot. I think if you are fouled on the shot, the missed attempt doesn't count.

Josh Pace Jr?! With a better looking J. :p Can we say that he is quickly developing the kind of game that wins you championships? Or shall we wait till April?

Perhaps I'd better go back and watch it again. I'm not remembering a foul, but I had people over and wasn't paying attention as closely as usual.

I am really glad to see CJ playing well again. He is the quiet assassin. 15 points and 7 boards and you don't know what hit you or how he got them.

The kid everybody but JB forgot about on the recruiting trail:)

correct if you are fouled the FGA only counts if you make it

I just don't get the Josh Pace comparisons. Other than wearing #5 and being a lefty, there is nothing similar about their games. Maybe a knack for being in the right place at the right time. I loved Josh Pace, but CJ is a MUCH better player.

Fair's skill set is at a higher level than Josh's but Pace's play along with Billy E's in the 2003 NCAA's bridged two games where Melo & GMAC had off games.

I didn't think it was quiet at all. I kept turning to my wife and saying "Wow, CJ is having a game!"

JP played either the 2 or undersized 3 where as CJ is playing the 3 or and undersized 4. The similarity to their games is that they are both "glue guys". To run a smooth company you need more then just the white collar workers but the ganitors, grounds keepers, warehouse guys, etc... to keep things running (aka blue collar). These people are just as important as your "top guys". They are willing to do the dirty things as was JP and now CJ.

These two are guys who is willing to go out one night and score, the next night and rebound, the next night lock down a player whatever is needed that night to get the win for the team. JP was a very humble young man and CJ seems to be of the same cloth. Both rebound well. Both are solid defensivly. Both have a strong BBall IQ. Both take it to the basket very well. Both have an array of shots/moves. Both handle the ball well. JP had that left handed floater where CJ is able to take it all the way to the rim. Both have great first steps. CJ is the better shooter. JP had the fugliest shot.

Sry that there are not longer clips.

I remember ESPN doing an article with josh standing at the free throw line with a brush and a bucket of glue. Their games might look a little different but they are fulfilling the same roll. CJ needs to be a bit more consistent. JP was automatic night in and night out.

The 2003 team was so perfectly balanced from abilities to egos. Just a great team. There are a lot of similarities with this years team as was 2010. The one glaring difference is our three point shoothing has fallen off. The inconsistency of the choppy schedule due to breaks might have hurt it a bit and hopefully as games are tighter together we can get into a groove.
