There has been some criticism of the number of boards CJ has garnered the last couple of games.
IMHO, the reason for his inconsistant boardwork is due to the way that he covers ground in the Zone. On swing passes he is out on the guard, yet he is quick enough to get back & cover the corner three. I do not re-call other forwards in our zone displaying as much defensive range and instinct as CJ.
So, in terms of boardwork, when the shot goes up he is starting from outside & not inside position. If he stayed at home more he would be in a better rebounding position. I am not saying that is what he should do, simply explaining the reason for the rebounding fall off.
