Is Clemson at the point where they just buzzsaw through the conference now?

They've gone on the road and obliterated Top 15 teams in Louisville and Va Tech.

Looks like we're heading towards a Clemson/Bama rubber match this year..

they are freaking awesome. they make no mistakes and have tons of talent.

Talent goes 3 deep. Amazing team

Clemson vs Bama in National Title Game. Let's see who goes up 2-1.

Maybe the lack of energy in the Dome will catch them off guard.

But they lose the best player in their history at QB and don't miss a beat. And I don't think it's a guarantee that Dabo leaves for Alabama. He built this monster at Clemson and there's no reason to think it will slow down.

What Clemson did the past few years is what most TOP END college football programs should be doing. They don't build a team to win their conference, they build a team to beat the top end teams SEC schools and a national title.

In the NFL the Pittsburgh Steelers did that this offseason. They built a team to beat the Patriots, not win the AFC North. They used to just be the "we are the Steelers and we do things this way"...this year they took the approach, we need to play this way and add talent here to off-set the Pats and beat them if we want to win a Super Bowl. They changed their thinking and the moves they made reflected that in the talent they brought in. Clemson is now bringing in guys they know can go toe-to-toe with top end SEC players, specifically at certain positions, and how they coach them and how they call games with playcalling is very "SEC-like".

It's getting to the point where it would just be super awkward if he did. They have played the last two National Championships against each other and are on a collision course for another. Is he just going to leave Clemson to go to the team they keep playing for Titles?

There's zero reason to think either team slows down anytime soon given their recruiting and resources.

FSU has been doing this as well, freak down year aside.

I could see Miami get to that level under Richt.

It helps when you can pick and choose who you want out of Florida and Georgia.

Coaching is the key. My industry is obsessed with Saban due to his "process". Dabo has installed a "process" at Clemson. The players come to that school knowing everything they do is for a Championship and they live, eat, breathe and bleed for each other. It's just a different mentality.

Clemson looked like Bama out there last night. Bigger, stronger, faster athletes all over the field. In past years, they were a good team (like Va Tech) with one or two dynamic players pumping them up (best e.g. Watson). Now they just look like a juggernaut.

You can see the difference in their first championship appearance to their 2nd. They put up a good fight in the first one, but their players were just as big, fast and skilled as Alabama. And they won. And I figured they would fall to 7-12 this year before competing again next year.
